You are in for a HUGE treat! Tina Walker is on the StencilGirl® Talk blog with her inaugural Columnist post! Tina and 27 other artists (including me!) transformed PLAIN BOXES with StencilGirl® stencils! Wait until you see the all the fabulous creativity!

I’m excited to be participating in this collaboration and sharing the mixed media piece I created!
The Plain Box Society
I started with a plain box and applied white gesso to all six sides. Next, I added Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle with a palette knife through my Map stencil around the four sides and let dry. Then I added Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle with a palette knife through my Compass stencil on the top.

Once dried, I used a paintbrush to add Lindy’s TiffanyLou Blue Shimmer Spray, Time Travel Teal Shimmer Spray, and Tainted Love Teal Shimmer Spray (starting with lightest color) on all six sides of the box. I allowed this to dry, too.

Lastly, I realigned my Map stencil along one of the box and applied VersaMark through the stencil. It was a cinch to realign with the dimensional spackle! I sprinkled on Seth Apter's Deep Sea Baked Texture from Emerald Creek, tapped off the excess, then heated with my heat tool. I repeated this along the other three sides, one side at a time.

And I repeated this same process on top with my Compass stencil on the top. Voila!

I love the combination of teals, blues, and texture!
Thank you so much, Tina, for spearheading and coordinating this fun collaboration!

I love the color choices and the texture of your box. It feels like the magic of traveling and exploring new places is locked up inside waiting to be discovered.

Gorgeous! Those colors are my favorites too😀 and your stencil fits so perfectly on the top. Whipped spackle is new to me but it’s going in the top of my shopping list! Beautiful project!
