The Love They Give Us

6/25/2012

Not only is there always another good animal in need of a good home,
but we must remember to be thankful for the time and love our animals give us while they are here.
Take time to enjoy them and learn from them.
As painful as it is to lose them, they teach us to love unselfishly, they teach us to live each day to the fullest,
they teach us to grow old gracefully, and they teach us to die with dignity.
We do them disrespect to focus only on the sorrow of their death
when they have given us so much joy through their life.
If we wish to honor them, take what they have given us, all that love,
and give it back to another animal in need of help.

KENT C. GREENOUGH

meet Bruno...

Bruno
Recently, I adopted Bruno, a 2-year old min pin, from Animal Rescue of Southern Illinois.
He is 12 pounds of pure, unconditional love!
Had to put my camera on sports mode just to shoot these...since Bruno rarely sits still outside!
When Bruno runs, his ears flap like wings, like he's going to take off flying at any moment! I love it!
He is such a sweet and happy boy!
I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of Bruno on my blog.

Have a great beginning to your week!

Mary^

What a beautiful friend! Those ears must be a blast to watch in action as he is running! It reminds me of how the hair blows behind my dog when he runs at full steam around the trees.

Mary, Bruno is too cute! We got Weimaraner puppy back in February and she is really just the light of our lives. It's amazing how much joy pets can bring.

What a sweetie! My Katzi was originally a shelter dog, too (I re-homed her when her first family couldn't keep her). It's so true that they are the ones who rescue us! BTW, I love your blog! (I'm in the BYW2 class with you)!
