The Groove Tool & StencilGirl Products Blog Hop!

Welcome to Day ONE of The Groove Tool & StencilGirl Products Blog Hop!
The Groove Tool & StencilGirl Products Blog Hop
When I received The Groove Tool, I couldn't wait to try out all four interchangeable tips!
So I chose to make a mixed-media painting on an 8" x 10" wood panel!
I must say that The Groove Tool made the process a breeze...and TONS of fun to create, too!
©2015 Mary C. Nasser, Go, Seek, Find, mixed-media/acrylic on wood panel, 8 x 10 inches
First, I used the brush tip with acrylic paint to cover the entire surface of the wood panel:

Once the acrylic dried, I used both the course and fine sanding tips
to distress the surface and give it a weathered look:

Next, I used my Map Stencil, the sponge tip, and StazOn Ink in Teal Blue to cover the surface with pattern:

Then it was time for the brush tip again, more acrylic paint, and It's A Small World Latitude
and It's A Small World Longitude stencils to create the images of the globes:

Lastly, I used Carolyn Dube's Uplifting Words stencil, a palette knife and Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste to add inspiring words to the left side of the composition to balance out the globes:

Your piece is lovely - and the tool is quite versatile. I was really interested in the sanding edge for distressing - my arthritis does not like sanding - but this seems to work quite well. Thanks for sharing.
