StencilGirl & Xyron
Welcome to a special post where StencilGirl meets Xyron!

When I got my package of goodies from Xyron in the mail, I knew immediately how I wanted to use them!

I grabbed a couple old atlases, my StencilGirl compass stencil, my new Dylusions journal, and a pair of scissors and started having fun!

And now for the process...
StencilGirl Xyron DIY by Mary C. Nasser
First I made my own vintage map washi tape by applying Xyron 1/2" Double Sided Tape horizontally to the back of one map and Xyron 1/4" Double Sided Tape to the back of the other.
I left some space between to make it easier to cut these strips apart.

Then I applied my tape horizontally onto the cover of my Dylusions journal, alternating the ½ inch tape and the
¼ inch tape. Below you can see both the front and the back of the journal after I trimmed the excess tape.

Next came the stenciling! I used acrylic paint and an ink sweeper with my compass stencil.
I added two compasses to the front cover and two to the back.

Lastly, I took an ocean map for its contrasting blues and used a Fiskars Round ’n Round Squeeze Punch to punch out four circles. I touched these circles to the Xyron 3/8" Adhesive Dots on the roll, then placed them in the centers of my compasses.
Voilà!
Here’s the front:

The beauty of this is you can create any kind of washi tape you’d like – use maps, scrapbook paper, painted papers, etc.!

And you can use any StencilGirl stencil, too, as well as the book of your choice – be it a sketchbook, composition book, scrapbook, journal.

I hope I've inspired you to experiment and play with some Xyron adhesives and StencilGirl stencils!.
Have fun!
Mary^

I love this. It's a perfect way to cover your journals or any other book that is in need of a breath of fresh air.

I love the effect you have created here, have you sealed it with anything else or is the double sided tape enough to have no lose edges?

Thank you, Louise.
I have not sealed it with anything. This double sided tape is super sticky! :)
I taped past the edges, but then trimmed the tape flush to the edge.
