StencilGirl Products and Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop!

Welcome to Day TWO of the StencilGirl Products and Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop!
StencilGirl Blog Hop
Our challenge put forth from Craft Hoarders Anonymous this week:

Spray It! Ink It! Paint It! Smear It! Emboss It!

Show us your inner mixed media diva! Use spray mists, inks, paints, modeling paste, embossing powder, pastels, chalk, and whatever messy media you can find! Let's dig into that hoard, pull out some of that "messy stuff," and use it up! There is a mess-maker hiding in all of you! Let her/him out to play!

I was thrilled to get messy again...to get out lots of supplies and make lots of layers!
For my project, I created this art journal spread:
Mary C. Nasser Map Art
Inspired by Mary Beth Shaw's recent art journaling webinar, I began with a paintbrush, Matisse background colors in Whisper Green and Turquoise, a cosmetic sponge, my StencilGirl Map stencil and Around the World Latitude and Around the World Longitude stencils.

Then it was time to grab my Liquitex spray paint in Iridesent Anique Gold and Turquoise and head out into the backyard! I sprayed the page edges and masked off my Latitude and Longitude Large stencil with parchment paper and sprayed and sprayed again!

Next, I added map stickers, map scrapbook paper and a postage stamp along with Pitt Pens and Golden High Flow Acrylics. Whee!

Lastly, I added more acrylics, used my Compass stencil, Map 6 stencil and Latitude and Longitude stencil, Seth Apter's Past Present Future stencil and Wendi Vecchi Embossing Paste in white, along with one of my favorite quotes about travel. Below is the finished spread:

Hope I've inspired you to get messy with your StencilGirl stencils, too!

What a perfect quote to describe the art-making quest! And how you make the gold "sing" against that rich deep aqua -- so, so pretty! This layout is a feast for the heart and mind ...

An amazing piece. I think this is probably the best you have ever done - but, that is my opinion. I love the colors. The blues just give the sense of the amount of water that covers our globe. Love the travel ephemera and love the stamp with Brasil on it. he he. LOVE!!

Love your project. The products you used are making me drool. There is no spray paint in my stash. Most of the things are recycled and low cost things. I am working to buy mixed media paper this month. Quality stencils and more paints is the next goal. Adding your website to my blogroll so that I will know each time you make a new blog post.
