Welcome to Day ONE of the StencilGirl Products & etchall Blog Hop!
StencilGirl & etchall
I’m excited to be sharing a tutorial for the cool slate coasters I created with Seth Apter's stencils and etchall.
I started by spraying
etchall® reposition/reuse stencil spray lightly to the back of these Seth Apter mini stencils:

I let the spray dry so the backs were sticky, and I positioned them on four 4" x 4" slate coasters.
Once in position, I applied pressure gently to the stencils with an etchall® Squeegee.

Next, I used the squeegee to spread etchall® etching crème over the open areas of the stencils.

After waiting 15 minutes, I used the squeegee to return the creme back into the original bottle.

I rinsed the surface of each slate coaster until all the cream had been removed.
Then I peeled off the stencils and voila!
Now I have these really cool and unique, etched coasters!

OMG! I've seen those slate coasters and wondered what I could possibly do with them (outside of using them as is). This is great -- and of course I love Seth's anything! But using *stencils* to etch . . . what a fabulous idea!

I love how you chose slate coasters! I have slate tables in my living room and these would be so adorable on them! And with Seth's stencils how could they not be so cool.

Great idea and technique. Etched slate would be fun (and durable) in my gardens as art and plant markers.

WOW. I am totally impressed with the EtchAll and what y'all did with stencils. I have THE UGLIEST glazed ceramic canister set that I am going to repaint, and I bought some of this EtchAll stuff a month ago, to use to totally cover the canisters with because I want spray paint to stick and this was the only way I could think of to give the surface some "tooth".
