StencilGirl Eileen Hull Blog Hop
Welcome to Day TWO of the StencilGirl and Eileen Hull Blog Hop!
I'm so excited to share what I created with StencilGirl stencils, Sizzix die cuts and my Craffiti Direct stamp!

For my projects, I used Eileen Hull's Barn Wood stamp, Seth Apter's Past, Present Future, Inside Out and Numbers stencils, and box and frame by Sissix!
StencilGirl Eileen Hull
For my first project, I created this fun Artist Trading Block (ATB for short!)...
Seth Apter StencilGirl stencils ATB
I began by painting the entire surface with unbleached titanium acrylic. Once that dried, I used the Barn Wood stamp and StazOn Metallic Ink in Copper over the entire surface, too. I added Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Brushed Pewter, Tarnished Brass and Antiqued Bronze. Then I used a jumbo dauber to apply Teal Blue StazOn through portions of the stencil.

Blue painters' tape helped mask off areas and words to stencil. I painted the smallest part of this die cut silver and stenciled Teal Blue onto it, too.

Once I finished painting this, the box was a cinch to assemble with double-sided adhesive tape!
My last steps were to glue four metal feet to the base and a custom knob onto the top!

The knob contains a map with a clear epoxy dome on top! I love maps and had to include one!

For my second project, I created this frame for one of my favorite photos of my puppy Bruno...
Mary C. Nasser
I began by painting the entire surface with cobalt turquoise acrylic. Once that dried, I used the Barn Wood stamp and StazOnTeal Blue over the entire surface, too. I added Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Brushed Pewter, Tarnished Brass and Antiqued Bronze. Then I used a small sponge dauber to apply copper acrylic paint through portions of the stencils.
StencilGirl Eileen Hull

I added some Wendy Vecchi silver embossing paste through a portion of the stencil with my palette knife, and a little teal acrylic splatter with my fineline applicator.
StencilGirl Eileen Hull

My last steps were to add on a bit of silver acrylic in the lower-left corner, glue on a little metal crown and the words live in the moment, and to pop in my picture of Bruno...

I love that ATB, Mary! (And of course the photo of your puppy!). The Seth Apter stencils were perfect for the project as is the barn wood stamp. As I started reading the blog I wondered why there was no map but you came through, as always!

I love your color palette. I'm really curious about your barn wood stamp as I haven't seen one. The map on the know is really cool. A great hidden treasure. I always appreciate so much when designers take the time to go into detail about how they made their piece of art, so thank you for that. I loved everything you made and the stencils you used.

Your projects are amazing! I love the 'secret' box but honestly, it's going to be difficult keeping anything secret in such a pretty container since everyone is going to want to see it and what is inside. (Very clever with the map set into the knob)
