StencilGirl Clearsnap
Welcome to Day ONE of the StencilGirl and Clearsnap Blog Hop!
For this blog hop, I decided to make a set of nature-inspired note cards – and to include bits of map collage, too!
StencilGirl Clearsnap
I’d never tried Clearsnap products before, so I limited myself to using only Clearsnap media – along with one stencil: Roxanne Evans Stout’s Nature’s Gatherings – to see what I could come up with! Gwen from the StencilGirl Creative Team recently shared this quote she learned in a creativity class in business school:
Creativity loves constraints. So I thought I’d give it a try! Thanks, Gwen!
StencilGirl Clearsnap
To start, I tore maps out of a 1983 Missouri Park Maps book I’d recently found at a book fair.

I sprayed half the pages with Smooch Spritz® in Ginger Ale. I crumpled up the other pages, opened the pages, and then wet the pages by holding them under the faucet in the sink. Then I sprayed them generously with ColorBox® Spritzers in Glacier Lake, rinsed away the excess color under the faucet again, allowing the lines of the maps to show through and the color to settle into the creases and folds.
After these pages dried, I flattened them a bit under some heavy books. I used my Fiskar Squeeze Punches to punch large circles out of the Glacier Lake pages and small hearts out of the Ginger Ale pages.

I used a glue stick to adhere the hearts onto the circles, and the circles onto 7” x 10” cardstock folded in half.

Next, I placed Roxanne Evans Stout’s Nature’s Gatherings stencil directly onto the card stock. Using a ColorBox® Color Blender, I pounced Mossy Mix'd Media Inx™ through the stencil. I love the dense, rich color of this product, and it was so easy to apply with the color blender!

Lastly, I added sweet little dragonflies by placing Dragonfly Design Adhesives on each card, then adding Designer Foil in this beautiful Lagoon color! Now I have a sweet set of 5 note cards to send!
