Welcome to the StencilGirl Blog Hop featuring StencilGirl Artist Michelle Ward!
We're celebrating brand new stencil releases by Michelle Ward available today to the public as of today!
Best of all, both Michelle Ward and Mary Beth Shaw are hopping along with us!!

You're on the right track if you just arrived from my friend Carolyn Dube’s blog. If not, no worries!
You can just follow the list below and start back at the beginning.
Spheres Small Stencil
I chose to play with Michelle Ward’s Spheres Small Stencil to make some fun map coasters with paint and collage! I'm grateful to Cecilia Swatton for sharing where she gets her coasters and encouraging me to paint my own! I started with four coasters, and painted these Cobalt Turquoise acrylic...

Next came the stenciling! I used Cobalt Teal acrylic paint and an ink sweeper to create more circles on my circle-shaped coasters!

Lastly, I took a vintage survey map and used Fiskars Round ’n Round Squeeze Punches to punch out circles.
I placed them in the centers of some spheres...
DIY Stenciled Coasters
I adhered these with matte medium...

It was easy and fun! And now I have four coasters that coordinate! Can't wait to make more!

The wonderful thing about blog hops is the chance to get a new idea for using our paper projects. I love the idea of the coasters. They'd make a great present for newlyweds or as a hostess gift. I missed seeing you at Artmart a couple weeks ago. I live in Millstadt. Seems like St. Louis is always shutting down major highways on the weekend so I didn't venture over. Hope to meet you another time. thanks.
