StencilGirl and C&T Publishing Blog Hop!

Welcome to the StencilGirl & C&T Publishing Blog Hop!
StencilGirl and Kraft-Tex
For today’s blog hop, I made a set of FIVE travel journals! I just could not stop using kraft-tex!
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journals
Each journal was super easy and fun to make!
To create each, I folded six 6” x 12” sheets of scrapbook paper in half and nested them together.
I used fun, travel-themed scrapbook papers for the pages!
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journals
Then I folded a piece of 7” x 13” Kraft-tex in half for each journal’s cover.
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journals
I placed the signature of pages into each cover and bound these with a simple 5-hole pamphlet stitch,
sewn with waxed linen thread.
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journals
For the cover below, I used kraft-tex Natural. With a sponge dauber I pounced StazOn Midi in Ganache through my Latitude and Longitude stencil. Then I painted around these stencils images with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic in Bora Bora. I really love the way the PaperArtsy paints integrate with the kraft-tex surface.
Then I used Jet Black Ranger Archival ink pad and fingertip sponge dauber to add words from Let’s Go 1 and Let’s Go 2. After removing the stencils, I connected the bridges of the letters with my Sakura black Identi-Pen.
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journals
For the next cover, I used kraft-tex Pre-Washed Turquoise. With a sponge dauber, I pounced StazOn Midi in Midnight Blue through Latitude and Longitude Large, then painted around the image with Bora Bora again.
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journals
This next cover consists of another piece of 7” x 13” kraft-tex Pre-Washed Turquoise folded in half.
On this cover, I used Aleene's Original Tacky Glue to adhere a square of kraft-tex Black.
With more Aleene's I layered three small squares of kraft-tex Natural on top of the black
and stenciled on the travel icons from Let’s Go 2 with Ganache.
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journal
My fourth cover is another collage: of It’s a Small World Latitude in Ganache on Natural, Just Plane Fun in white acrylic on kraft-tex Black, and two wooden buttons with an image of a globe and compass.
These elements were adhered with Aileen’s onto another Turquoise cover.
Mary C. Nasser, Mixed Media Travel Journals
This last cover combines acrylic, ink, and collage. For this cover, I folded a piece of 7” x 13” kraft-tex Black in half. I pounced white acrylic through String stencil onto it. When this dried, I pounced Hero Arts Neon Pink Ink through this same stencil. I stenciled an image from Just Plane Fun using white acrylic on another piece of
kraft-tex Black. I stenciled the globe from Let’s Go 2 onto kraft-tex Natural with Ganache.
Afterwards I cut out both these images and collaged them onto the cover with Aleene's.

Love that Craft-Tex! And ou used it so well for the covers! Never thought of pouncing Staz-On or Archival inks through my stencils--great tip! I suppose those inks will stain the stencils, but the ink won't come off on other projects, so it should be fine.
