We interrupt your regularly scheduled Friday Favorite to bring you StencilGirl Talk’s first September Blog Hop!

For this blog hop, StencilGirl Creative Team members are showcasing Seth Apter’s new stencils!
And Seth Apter is hopping with us!! Yay!

You're on the right track if you just arrived from Linda Cain's blog.
If not, no worries! You can just follow the list below and start back at the beginning.
Numbers StencilGirl Stencil by Seth Apter
Numbers StencilGirl Stencil by Seth Apter
I was lucky to get to play with Seth's brand new Numbers stencil to create a new mixed-media painting!
This is a super stencil! It's like getting dozens of stencils in one! And I love the variety of marks this stencils contains! It's such fun!

After collaging maps onto a 9" x 12" stretched canvas, I layered acrylic paints with the Numbers stencils.

My acrylic paint palette consisted of Unbleached Titanium, Iridescent Antique Bronze, Cobalt Turquoise, Cobalt Teal, Iridescent Rich Copper, Iridescent Copper Light, Prussian Blue and Interference Oxide Green. I also used a Krylon 18 karat gold leafing pen and 6B pencil to add mark-making. Lastly, I incorporated Inka Gold in Copper and Haematite as well as Wendy Vecchi metallic gold embossing paste, text and metal ephemera, too.

I like the way you carefully interspersed the numbers, words and x's in your map without making it look contrived. I met Mary Beth at the CREATE Chicago and she mentioned that you were a good friend.

I'm sad that yours is my next to last page to visit. This hop has been uber inspirational. I've been playing around with mixed media projects for ages and now that I have found these additional 9 artists (I started with Seth, based on a post by Dayne Davidson Collins) I have expert advice on techniques and processes that I never thought I would! Your work I wonderful!

Wonderful piece, love all the details and textures, and the teal and turquoise go so well together with those warm bronze colours. That stencil really looks good!

Hi Mary, I love to see how your art is changing. I love the way you have started using stencils, now I use stencils with molding paste and I love it.
