Sense of Direction

Got my show hung at The Green Center this past Saturday and wanted to share a couple images.
Spotting and hanging a show feels a lot like the process of painting to me.  The space is a blank canvas, and I must compose or arrange how I want the paintings displayed.  Because my paintings are small, I prefer to group them together.  Often, I group paintings with similar compositions, colors, or subject matter  to complement and strengthen each other.  The particular groupings are determined by the specific spaces in which they are displayed.
Here is one example of a grouping at The Green Center:

I also love making, sending, and receiving handmade cards.  My cards are 5"x7" collages suitable for matting and framing.  It's fun weaving, collaging, and layering bits of paper, maps, stamps and string.
Below is how my card display appears at The Green Center on Saturday.

Just five days until the big Fall Fire Festival at The Green Center!  My show will be on display until January 2, 2011.  Hope to see you at the reception December 30th!
