Recently, I was fortunate enough to spend time again as an artist-in-resident at Osage Arts Community in Belle, Missouri. This time, however, rather than living on the farm, I was the first artist to reside in the new Art Center – where my work is on display. And little Bruno got to go with me!
Off the top of my head, I can think of no other place where an artist can exhibit her work, reside, make art in a studio, and conduct open studio workshops all under one roof. It was both an honor and a privilege to be the first Osage Arts Community Resident Artist to reside in the new Art Center.

It was a wonderfully productive and restorative time to paint and reflect and explore new ideas in my art.
During this time at OAC, I displayed 70 pieces in the Art Center, completed 11 paintings, began 17 additional paintings, created 4 stencil designs to be manufactured, sold 4 paintings, shipped 3 paintings to Ypsilanti for a national juried exhibit, led 7 open studios, scheduled a solo show for 2014, went antiquing for the first time, bought 7 vintage books of maps for my mixed media work, and made many friends whom I look forward to seeing again. I won't tell you how many times I went to Bob's Frozen Custard next door (because I lost track). :)
I am so grateful to Mark McClane and the Belle Community!
Too much goodness to include in just one blog post!
To be continued next Monday!
Have a great beginning to your week!
