Orly Avineri StencilGirl Blog Hop!

Welcome to the StencilGirl Blog Hop featuring NEW StencilGirl Artist Orly Avineri!

For this blog hop, StencilGirl Creative Team members are showcasing Orly’s FIVE new stencils!
And Orly Avinery, Mary Beth Shaw and Seth Apter are hopping along with us!! Yay!

You're on the right track if you just arrived from Carolyn Dube's blog.
If not, no worries! You can just follow the list below and start back at the beginning.
StencilGirl Orly Avineri
I was inspired by both Orly's journal pages and encouragement to use parts of her stencils to create our own imagery world and also Mary Beth's recent art journaling webinar, to play and layer in my own art journal with Soft Bones and A Skeletal Plot. In addition, I was inspired by Lesley Riley's interview with Orly in which Orly beautifully defines an art journal as something between a diary that you write and lock and put under your mattress for no one and a painting in a gallery that you showcase and everyone can see.
Mary C. Nasser StencilGirl
Recently, my 4-year-old puppy Bruno and I celebrated two years together, and these journal pages celebrates that!

I began with my wide flat Colour Shaper, Matisse background colors in Gum Tree Gree, Whisper Green and Antique green, and a cosmetic sponge to apply layers.

I also incorporated the Mattise background color Carolmello. The intricacies in Orly's stencils are lovely!

Next, I added acrylic paint with a small sponge dauber; if you look carefully, you can see Bruno's photo placed beneath the stencil. I love the translucency of StencilGirl stencils! Makes creating compositions so much easier being able to see what's beneath!
Mary C. Nasser StencilGirl
I used washi tape to secure Bruno's photo and added labels I had painted and written on:

Then I added Wendy Vecchi embossing paste in gold and white through both of Orly's stencils and Seth's Past Present Future stencil along with more labels I'd painted:

Lastly, I added more stickers, acrylic paint, numbers from Seth's Inside Out and Timeless stencil, Pitt Pens, Sakura Glaze Pens and some additional washi tape:

I am SO glad I found your blog. I just love the instructions especially where you show Bruno's picture under the stencil and how easy it is to place both a picture and how to stencil neatly around it so you can put the paint right where you want it. THANK YOU! I'll definitely be trying this.
