Water Trail by Mary C. Nasser
My new painting this week is entitled Water Trail.
This painting layers a Hawaiian map, ink drawing, mica, acrylic media and acrylic on a small stretched canvas.

I like that little set of tiny lakes like little shimmering iridescent (is that really how you spell that?) amoebas. At least I imagine they are lakes. I like how the map notations add a little something, too. Definitely has your scientific-geologic kinda feel to it. :)

I love the mica and metallic paint! My brother got married this past Saturday, and the new couple is honeymooning in Hawaii right now ~ I've been seeing Hawaii everywhere, and it reminds me of them :) Thank you!

I've really been enjoying your paintings. that nubbly, shimmery green bit at the bottom is so delicious. The map on this one reminds me of those little plastic discs you put in the middle of a 45 so it would fit on your record player. lovely
