New Work Wednesday: Tiny Piece of Land

My new painting this week is entitled Tiny Piece of Land.
This is another painting inspired by my time on the farm at Osage Arts Community.

This painting layers a map, text, acrylic paint and media on a small stretched canvas.

I also used Mary Beth Shaw's Rafters stencil – an oldie but a goodie! – with acrylic paints around the text.
It remains one of my favorite stencils because it reminds me of maps!

And speaking of Mary Beth Shaw, you still have time to enter the drawing to win an autographed copy of her book Flavor for Mixed Media! Click here for the details and to throw your hat in the ring!

Thanks so much for visiting  my blog.
Hope you're having a wonderful week!

I immediately thought of an aerial view of a farm before I saw the title of your piece. Marvelous. I like that stencil too....makes for great geometry. Wonderful piece. xox

Love your beautiful painting. I am one of those map nuts who could entertain myself for hours looking at a map. Your pieces always are fascinating to me.

Wonderful colours and I like how you have used the stencil. The little lines look like stitches

Ouch, I didn't make it into the drawing. I particularly love this mixed media painting, it reminds me of the old books showing boundary lines for property that I use to look up for genealogy. Great depiction of that. Blessings, Janet PPF
