My new painting this week is entitled The Moment.
©2013 Mary C. Nasser, The Moment, mixed-media/acrylic on canvas, 8 x 10 inches

This painting layers collage, lots and lots of maps, graphite, and acrylic paint with the Old World Map Series, Celestial and Shooting Stars stencils from Artistcellar on a stretched canvas.

Please click on the photo above to see a larger image.

I'm continuing to limit my palette to neutral colors and my favorite complementary combination of teal and copper and still having lots of fun with the layers and process!

Below is a detail of the  work, too:

So excited!!

Congrats on the opening, Mary! I LOVE your recent work and actually thought about it as I looked out of the window on a recent airplane flight...the typography, the beautiful lines of roads and areas of green made by irrigation systems...all those beautiful textures seen from above reminded me of your beautiful layering and altering of maps. Just lovely.
