My new painting this week is entitled South.

This painting layers a Hawaiian map, ink drawing of a Hawaiian petroglyph and geology, metallic tape, vintage illustration, green olivine sand (purchased on the Big Island), acrylic media and acrylic on a small stretched canvas.

What a great mixed media piece, Mary! Great theme and use of all those different materials.

Mixed media is something that seems very difficult to do well, so I always enjoy seeing work by artists that make it look easy.

I truly don't believe there is anything you do I don't love, always the texture, colour & mixed media combine to a great artistic piece... esp love the water!
