My new painting this week is entitled Place and Time.
©2013 Mary C. Nasser, Place and Time, mixed-media/acrylic on canvas, 9 x 12 inches
©2013 Mary C. Nasser, Place and Time, mixed-media/acrylic on canvas, 9 x 12 inches
This painting layers collage, lots and lots of maps, graphite, and acrylic paint with the Old World Map Stencils from Artistcellar on a stretched canvas. Click on the  photo above to see a larger image.

In this  painting, I intentionally experimented with limiting my palette to neutral colors again along with my favorite complementary combination of teal and copper.

Below is a detail of the work,  too:

Was so much fun to make this!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Wow Mary, this is fabulous! I too love the color palette of teal and copper. (Teal/aqua/blue is my fav color :) And the stencil use is beautiful. They certainly are one of a kind, that's Artistcellar :-D

Mary, I really like the slightly different direction your work is taking recently. It is still recognisable as a Mary C Nasser piece but with a different, softer, feel to the use of maps. I love it! The colours are wonderful. As per my Twisty cottage last week Teal is also one of my favourite colours and combined with the copper here it is just gorgeous!
