My new painting this week is entitled Boundaries.
Boundaries by Mary C. Nasser
This painting layers a Hawaiian map, ink drawings, metal, Wood Icing, text, acrylic media and paint on a stretched canvas.

Below I’m sharing another sneak peek of my pages from The Sketchbook Project 2012, too!
The theme I chose was Transatlantic.
I loved drawing map after map after map!

Really nice. The sketchbook page designs are so interesting -- abstract in the truest sense of the word in that that bring to mind maps, yet are not real maps. I love the colors and lines.

Your painting is beautiful Mary! I am so drawn to the color palette you chose. In fact, my hands are stained with blue ink right this minute from a project I was working on earlier today!
Your sketchbook series is so striking! Every year I think about joining the sketchbook project, and 2012 is going to be the year I dive in! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

I love your use of maps in most of the paintings. This one looks almost like a quilt. Blessings, Janet PPF
