New Work Wednesday: Long Journey

My new painting this week is entitled Long Journey.

This painting layers collage, vintage maps, graphite, acrylic paint, Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste and metal ephemera on an 8" x 10" stretched canvas. Still having lots of fun combining my new line of rubber stamps for RubberMoon with my StencilGirl designs in my mixed-media work!

When Kristen Powers first invited me to design rubber stamps for RubberMoon, she encouraged me to include words I had used in my mixed-media paintings. So in addition to choosing words I used most often, I also chose words that could be used in a variety of combinations with one another...in a vintage text, of course!

I've been having fun using the words in all sorts of combinations with each other!
Some of my favorite combinations are:
dream journey
long distances
long road
farm road
long road
dream farm

This painting includes the text long journey.
