Lava Flow by Mary C. Nasser
Lava Flow
My new painting this week is entitled Lava Flow.

This painting layers a Hawaiian map, ink drawing, encaustic (wax), vintage text, acrylic and mica on a small stretched canvas.

Happy Mid-Week!

Hello, I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, but it has been a little crazy for me. I should have your gift for being my 100th follower done by the weekend. Please email me your address so I can ship it off to you. I trust you like it because it is always hard to know what someone else likes. But know that it comes from the heart.

I just love your work, it is amazing!!!

Hi Mary! Thanks so much for visiting my site. As newbie blogger I very much appreciate you dropping by. Thanks for the nice comment =) I feel quite small though because of the big content of your site as compared to my blog...you've done so much and I still have a long way to go. Keeping on hopping by so you can still see my work progress and hope you can give your comments as well. I look forward to more of your pieces as well! Keep up the good job!

Mary I love this piece, as with your others, I love the colors and the subtley of it all. You combine a real feel of natural history (?) or science with art.
I used to use a product years and years ago when I messed around with making tee shirts by hand, I think you'd like it. It was a special glue you could paint on, write on etc, to the tee shirt or paper, let it dry then lay this metallic foil over and rub. The metallic would stay on the glue part and it could be washed too! I'll look it up if you want me to.
Great stuff! ps. thanks for stopping by my blog, keep in touch.
Mary
