We interrupt your regularly scheduled Friday Favorite to bring you StencilGirl Talk’s first blog hop!
Woo-hoo!

For this first blog hop, the StencilGirl Creative Team members are showcasing Andrew Borloz's
Crossed Rounds & Squares Stencil. You're on the right track if you just arrived from my super talented teammate Paula Phillips’ Blog. If not, no worries! You can just follow the list below and start back at the beginning.

First, let me say there are so many wonderful possibilities with this stencil!
Below is just one of the many ways to use Crossed Rounds & Squares.
I chose to work on an old survey map and begin with one of my favorite colors (Cobalt Teal) and an ink sweeper.
Remember...not too much paint, or it will seep under your stencil.
Crossed Rounds & Squares StencilGirl Stencil by Andrew Borloz
Then I cleaned and dried my stencil so that I could see through it to carefully place it for my second color...

...Cobalt Turquoise!

I cut out the image of a compass from a vintage map book and glued it in the lower left-hand corner, then glued this onto a piece of Canson Mi-Teintes paper. I folded six pieces of sulphite paper in half, nested these inside the folded cover, and used a simple 5-hole pamphlet stitch to create my book below!
