Krylon Mystery Box!

Recently, I was one of 50 winners chosen at random to receive a Krylon® Mystery Box in the mail!
Whee! I received two cans of Krylon Short Cuts® Aerosol paint, wooden buttons, burlap ribbon, two white bandanas and a mini wooden crate provided by Walnut Hollow.
Krylon Mystery Box!
I was delighted with the colors of Krylon Short Cuts® in my mystery box – the True Taupe reminded me of the unbleached titanium I so often include in my palette. And blue is one of my favorite colors, too. I knew right away that I wanted to make something for my art studio and cover it with Carolyn Dube’s inspiring words!
Krylon Mystery Box!
I started by spraying the entire crate with True Taupe. Then I used Carolyn Dube’s Now Is The Time small and Now Is The Time large stencils. I used artist tape to mask off words and hold the stencils in place as I sprayed the Ocean Blue.
Krylon Mystery Box!
The words were a perfect fit on the slats and ends of the mini crate!

Once the paint was dry, I used hot glue to adhere the wood buttons to my mini crate and to line the inside and underneath portion of the crate with burlap.

I love the way the crate organizes tubes of paint and adds extra inspiration to my studio!
Thank you, Krylon and Walnut Hollow!

Mary - this is such a brilliant way to do the crate- what a perfect gift for the holidays to make! And the way you combined the words to make the phrase you wanted - love it!

This is so fun! I love what you did with your kits and the stencils... what a great way to store your paints! I love how great the words stencils look on this. Thanks for the inspiration!

Adorable! I love how the words fit so perfectly. What a cute gift this would make for any artist. Especially if it was filled with paints, like yours is! ;)
