Healing Through the Arts

Last weekend, I had the privilege of leading the workshop Monotype Delights! to adults at the David C. Pratt Cancer Center. This workshop was part of Mercy's Healing Through the Arts program: a series of free art workshops designed to enhance healing for patients and their families.

The participants were wonderful and made AMAZING monoprints with Gelli Arts plates and StencilGirl stencils!
The process was new to everyone, but after a quick demonstration, there were lots of smiles and tons of lovely prints! They really inspired me!

Below are some of the great monoprints they created (you can click on any image to enlarge it and really see the nuanaces):

I began leading Healing Through the Arts workshops after my own father was treated for cancer at Mercy's David C. Pratt Cancer Center. And this is just one small way I can give back and help others with their healing process, too.

I hope you have a wonderful week,
Mary^

Mary, How fabulous that you do that!! I think it is one of the most caring and giving things one could do- such a release for the patients and their families! You ,my dear are a lovely person, and I already knew that, but this just confirmed my thoughts! xo

What a great thing to do; I'm sure it's very healing to both them and you. I have always believed in the power of art to heal, because it has done so much for me in my own life. They have really done some nice work here.
