Healing Through the Arts: Quilling Creations!

10/13/2014

Saturday, I had the privilege of leading Quilling Creations, an adult workshop at the David C. Pratt Cancer Center. We rolled strips of paper into coils, glued these at the tips to make circles and shaped some into teardrops, marquises and rolled hearts. Then we arranged these shaped coils with variations of scrolls onto tags to create flowers, butterflies, dragonflies and fish!

Below is a photo-collage of some of their wonderful creations from the workshop:
Art Therapy
This workshop was part of Mercy's Healing Through the Arts program – a series of free art workshops designed to enhance healing for patients and their families. These services complement and integrate traditional medicine so a patient can navigate both treatment and recovery more easily.

I truly believe in the healing power of art and feel so grateful to have been a part of Healing Through the Arts since its inception.

For additional information about Healing Through the Arts and to see the current workshop schedule, please visit their website here.

Hope you had a lovely weekend, too, and have a great beginning to your week!
