This Friday’s featured artist is Wataru Sakuma and his amazing Woven Cities!
For his map art, he utilizes newspaper because it contains information records history just like a map.
He puts newspapers in a blender with water to create pulp: the medium for drawing.
The pulp is placed inside a ketchup dispenser to draw the lines of roads and side streets.
The map is then painted in acrylic. Some of these are as large as 4 x 8 feet!
