This Friday's featured artist is Valaree Cox and her amazing mixed media map paintings!
I love her combination of maps, plaster and paint to create imaginary worlds and landscapes!

Roadmaps to Reason
From her Bio:
Valaree Cox is a mixed media abstract painter working with plaster, paper and paint on wood panels.
Her work, although abstract, reads as a narrative telling a story around the events and experiences of her life.

She creates her paintings organically and intuitively, using torn paper and maps over plaster;
then integrating all with layers of paint and glazes.
