This Friday's Feature artist is Tanner Lawley! I am amazed by his large-scale map project!
On July 4th, 2012, Tanner began painting the largest oil painting of the United States of America ever!
It will measure 20-feet tall and 40-feet wide, consisting of 50 different 4’ x 4’' canvases: one for each state.
He is painting 1 state a day for 50 days, starting with the first state (Delaware) to join the Union and ending with last state (Hawaii).
When all 50 paintings are assembled together, they will form the stars and stripes of the U.S. flag!
