This Friday's featured artist is Texas artist Robin Ayres! I love her unique globe creations!

This gorgeous 12" globe pictured below is covered in sewn-on antique buttons:

She writes:
I love things that are reused, repurposed, redefined, renewed.
It gives me hope that nothing is beyond being useful – including people.
My dream would be to dig through the junk drawers of every home in the world, like “American Pickers.”
​I love things that I can tell have been used and treasured.

This 12" record album globe contains the album Rare Earth, One World.

And this is Robin's largest button globe! All the buttons are carved mother of pearl and abalone and are sewn on.
