This Friday’s featured artist is Katie Daisy of The Wheatfield!
I especially love her series of state prints!
From her bio:
Katie Daisy was raised by the birds and warm breezes of small-town Lindenwood, Illinois, brought up among the other wildflowers with roots planted deeply in the natural world.
She found her voice and honed her skills at the renowned Minneapolis College of Art and Design, graduating in 2009 and subsequently beginning a successful career as a freelance illustrator. In recent years Katie has grown a substantial following, known especially for her illustrations of inspiring quotes by great authors and humanitarians. Working in watercolor and acrylic paint as well as mixed media materials, her work captures the essence of life lived in harmony with nature and in active pursuit of dreams.
Katie currently lives and works in a quiet cabin beneath the warm sun and old-growth pines of the Pacific Northwest, along with her fiancé and a small collective of artists and explorers. She carries the prairie with her, seeking to experience and reveal ever-more fully the wonders of the natural world, to savor the simple joys of life, to inspire others to find and live their passions.
