Maps are not only my life's passion, but also in my blood.
My great grandmother, who is also my namesake, was a single young independent working woman in the late 19th and early 20th century, which was not the norm for ladies at that time.
She was employed away from her hometown, as an assistant to a cartographer, in Washington DC.
Although I never had the opportunity to meet her, her life and story continue to be a huge inspiration to me.
