January 17 Challenge & Prompt
Art Challenge: The Color Wheel
Journal Prompt: “I found I could say things with color and shapes
that I couldn't say any other way…” – Georgia O’Keeffe
For this challenge, I wanted to create pages that exuded the joy and delight and life that color makes me feel.
I challenged myself to use a variety of colors – without black. I really love working with a limited palette in my paintings, but it was fun to challenge myself to try something completely different and so whimsical!
This journal spread is how I see the world – filled with colors!

After applying gesso to both pages and allowing it to dry, I layered bright colors of heavy body acrylics, incorporating Cathy Nichol's Tree of Change stencil (above) and Traci Bautista's CHA stencil (below), adding my own lines, marks and brushstrokes, too.
I included lots of flowers as a tribute to Georgia O'Keeffe!
I really love how open to interpretation the DLP challenges and prompts have been!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
I hope you have a wonderful week!
