Today I'm sharing what I created for week ten of
The Original Documented Life Project™ The Journal!

March’s Theme
Making Your Mark (Doodles & Mark Making)

March 7 Challenge & Prompt

Art Challenge:
As A Layer Element
Journal Prompt: Surviving the Elements
Documented Life Project
For these pages, I built up layers of marks with my Gelli plates, stencils and acrylic paints. I chose stencils that contained both marks and text. Monoprinting layers of prints directly onto my art journal pages creates a unique and rich surface – an effect I know no other way of achieving.

Below are details of my pages:

Adding paint pen marks embellished shapes…
Documented Life Project
Inspired by the prompt Surviving the Elements, I wrote in black and white ink about my grandmother and all of the elements that she has survived in her lifetime.
Documented Life Project
Inspired by artists Traci Bautista, Gwen Lafleur, Rae Missigman and Sandi Keene, I hand-carved my own stamps, too, to layer more marks:

Scribble Scratch Handwriting stencil
Encouraging Scribbles stencil

August 2013 StencilClub mini stencil
I love how open to interpretation the DLP challenges and prompts have been!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
I hope you have a wonderful week!

Love your journal pages Mary. I've just recently started doing the gelli printing and it is addictive... I have discovered I do not have enough stencils at all :)
