“You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”  ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

During the last day of our end-of-the-summer road trip in Colorado, Dan and I rented bikes.
Rather than numbers, each bike was labeled with its name.
My bike was named Petra and Dan’s was Galiardi.

We biked 9 miles from Breckenridge to the fish bike racks at Frisco Marina –
this was the meeting place for us to take a shuttle to the top of Vail.

For the first 4 miles down Vail, we rode among bike racers – and volunteers with
cowbells cheering us on.  One boy repeated:“Do your best!” to all the riders biking by.

Little did I know that we were sharing the course with The Colorado Cyclist Copper Triangle,
whose course followed a 78-mile loop cresting three Colorado Mountain passes –
Fremont Pass (elevation 11,318’), Tennessee Pass (elevation 10,424’) and Vail Pass (elevation 10,666’)!

The ride down Vail was uplifting and inspiring; my bike carried me through pure bright air. I enjoyed the sounds of the streams and my bike tires on the wooden bridges that crossed streams along with the view of the sky and trees. Colorful wildflowers painted both sides of the paved bike path.

At the end of my ride, back in Frisco, I stopped at Abbey’s Coffee and treated myself to a Pineapple Express: a smoothie with juice, vanilla yogurt, pineapples, strawberries, bananas and a scoop of protein!

And never give up!

I’d love to hear about your accomplishments in the comments below!

Looks like the bike ride was lots of fun and I just love smoothies (yum). Can't wait to get back on my bike when I'm feeling a little better, I've missed it.

The photos are breath taking, I love CO, haven't been there in years. Having a child with special needs, everyday there is something to celebrate, we worked through some rough patches this summer, and we are celebrating my son this week! This was a great post, we all need a moment to stop and look at the positives in our lives.
