August StencilGirl Blog Hop!

8/7/2013

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Friday Favorite to bring you StencilGirl Talk’s first August blog hop!

For this blog hop, the StencilGirl Creative Team members are showcasing June Pfaff Daley’s stencils!
And Mary Beth and June are hopping with us!! Yay!

You're on the right track if you just arrived from my super talented teammate Marjie Kemper's Blog.
If not, no worries! You can just follow the list below and start back at the beginning.
Seashells StencilGirl Stencil by June Pfaff Daley

I was lucky to get to play with June's brand new Seashells stencil to create a new mixed-media map painting!
This is a super stencil! It's like getting five stencils in one!

After collaging maps onto a 9" x 12" canvas, I added Unbleached Titanium acrylic and marks with a 6B pencil. Then came the fun part...I placed the Seashells stencil directly onto my painting and applied Iridescent Antique Bronze acrylic.

Next, I layered the Seashells stencil with Cobalt Turquoise acrylic. Then I removed the stencil and applied more Cobalt Turquoise with a brush. I repeated this process with Cobalt Teal. In the upper-left corner, you see where I selected just of a portion of the stencil to use.

Then I added some complementary Iridescent Rich Copper and Iridescent Copper Light:

Lastly, I added a tiny metal arrow and the text – nearby and in the sun:
