They say that lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice, but this past weekend it did! Seth Apter and Mary Beth Shaw co-taught their second art workshop together – and it was in the intimate setting of Mary Beth’s studio again! (Read more about the first workshop they co-taught here.) This workshop was entitled “At the Improv.”
With just 12 workshop participants, we spent the entire weekend exploring tons of mixed-media materials and techniques. Below is a photo of Mary Beth's gorgeous painted papers from her demo!
Mary Beth was incredibly generous sharing not only her studio space, but also canvas substrates, paints, pencils, collage components, and markers! There were a plethora of StencilGirl stencils there, too, of course! I literally brought just an apron, a pair of scissors, a water container and a few paintbrushes!
How lucky can one girl be! I also saw my sweet friend Trena Brannon again and met Peg Robinson. And my workshop table-mates were Kristin Williams of Ephemera Paducah and Gwen Lafleur! All wonderful and creative women!
I went into the workshop excited and ready to have fun. Little did I know I would be beginning a whole new body of work! It was an amazing and energizing experience of both flow and momentum!
How lucky I feel to work and create with some of the most talented, inspiring and kind people on this planet!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
I hope you're having a fun and creative week, too!
