Currently, I keep three types of mixed media art journals:One of the reasons I enjoy working in multiple journals is that I can work in one while the others are drying!
I prefer to let layers dry in their own time – especially when using crackle paste.
It's also fun working in a variety of sizes, and experiencing the way one journal spread can inform another!
Today I’m sharing spreads from the smaller art journals.
This first spread is from my black cardstock journal:

This first spread is from my black cardstock journal:
I enjoy building of layers of lots of bright, bold colors in acrylics to complement the rich black pages.
This particular spread incorporates Mary Beth Shaw's Private Collection 15.5 from StencilGirl Products along with DecoArt's Media Crackle Paste, DecoArt's Media Antiquing Cream, and a black art tag, too. The black art tag is filled with scribble writing I did in with my white Signo pen. I also used a plack permanent marker to add my marks around the stenciled numbers.

This second spread is in my smaller Dylusions art journal containing white cardstock pages.
This spread incorporates acrylics, gesso, Rae Missigman’s Rows of Triangles stencil, Limited Edition Seth Apter CHA stencil, and a StencilGut from Terri Stegmiller’s X-12 stencil! I used my white pen and black pen again to incorporate scribble writing and mark-making.
