I've been enjoying time planting and tending to my flower garden, and now flowers are popping up in my art journal pages, too!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog,
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Today I'm sharing two new spreads in my small Dylusions art journal! For both these spreads, I was inspired by Sherry Canino to maintain some white areas in these pages! Sometimes I add so very many layers of acrylic paint, collage ephemera, and pen, that I cover up all of the white and lose contrast in my composition. This was a fun challenge for me...and much easier said than done! Thank you, Sherry, for cheering me on! This first spread incorporates acrylics, gesso, ink, and collage, along with Rae Missigman's Imaginary Bloom stencil and mask, and Seth Apter's Inside Out stencil from StencilGirl Products. I really like the idea that the secret dream may be inside that tiny manila envelope tied with twine. Below are detailed photos: This second spread incorporates acrylics, gesso, ink, and oil pastel, along with Rae Missigman's Imaginary Bloom and Nonsensical Bloom stencil and mask, and Carolyn Dube's Fridge Poetry stencil. I'm embracing making marks – pouring, dripping, drawing, scribble writing – all while still leaving white! Below are detailed photos: No doubt these pages were also inspired by the arrival of spring!
