"The physical domain of the country had its counterpart in me.
The trails I made led outward into the hills and swamps, but they led inward also.
And from the study of things underfoot . . . came a kind of exploration, myself and the land.
In time the two became one in my mind."
– John Haines

Mixing a variety of media, this art journal page layers watercolor painting, stenciling, paper collage, washi and mark-making with a calligraphy nib and watercolors. Each element is representative of who I feel I am currently.
In my studio, I experience exploring, learning, and self-care simultaneously.
And I continue reaching for the colors and materials that bring me joy:
Wildthorne watercolors in turquoise, teal, blues, indigo, and buff titan, maps, inks, and my stencils I’ve designed for StencilGirl® Products. In this page, I chose to use my Map with Roundabouts stencil and Map Symbols stencil.
I feel a connection to the Voyager and Ocean sediment palettes from Wildthorne in particular.
This journaling prompt came from The Ruby Dahlia Society.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog,
