VLAA
Today, I want to share with you a very helpful resource:
St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts or VLAA for short.

In addition to great free publications and guides like
their Guide to Leasing Studio Space and
Guide to Artist-Gallery Consignment Contracts,
I’m really excited that they are offering these affordable workshops for artists this fall:

Business Edge for Individual Artists

CAREER PLANNING FOR ARTISTS
Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This hands-on workshop, presented with thanks to colleagues at Springboard for the Arts in St. Paul, will help you examine your career, both professionally and artistically. You’ll learn how to chart a “career path” that incorporates specific strategies and how to put your plan into action.
Instructors: Susan Bostwick, artist, and Sue Greenberg, VLAA executive director

USING TIME WISELY: FINDING REAL CONTENTMENT IN A CRAZY, BUSY WORLD

Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Learn new ways to understand your relationship with time and practical strategies and tactics for using time to achieve desired results in your personal/professional life. Our dynamic speaker is Mary C. Kutheis, writer, coach and owner of RealContentment.com (formerly Open Spaces, LLC).

MARKETING & PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION
Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.

We’ll discuss promotional materials and help you identify the right audience, position yourself (including pricing), set priorities and stop procrastinating. Instructors: Kate Poss, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and VLAA’s Sue Greenberg.

Business Edge workshops are held in the Regional Arts Commission’s building,
6128 Delmar, across from the Pageant.
Tuition is $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Can't afford to pay?  You can contact them to request a scholarship!

And you don’t have to live in or near St. Louis to access resources and free guidelines and publications.
Check out their website here!

Have a great beginning to your week!
