My new painting this week is entitled Long Distances.
©2013 Mary C. Nasser, Long Distances, mixed-media/acrylic on canvas, 4 x 6 inches
©2013 Mary C. Nasser, Long Distances, mixed-media/acrylic on canvas, 4 x 6 inches
This painting layers maps, text, acrylic paint and media on a small stretched canvas.

I also used Mary Beth Shaw's Rafters stencil with acrylic paints around the text.
(And speaking of Mary Beth Shaw and her amazing stencils...I hope your read my HUGE news Monday
about helping Mary Beth with her StencilGirl Products! Woo-hoo!)

Mary Beth has a free stencil offer, too! Check it out and earn a free stencil, like Rafters!
It's one of my fave stencils because it reminds me of maps!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.
Hope you're having a wonderful week!
Mary^

I was going to link to the stencil girl site but I am not quite sure how to do it. Does she just want a regular url link or do you have to put the entire banner on? If it is the banner, I can't find the html code for that anywhere.
I'd love a free stencil!

Love how the rafters work on this! It makes me think of an archeological dig and where it was discovered on the map. Fabulous!

Mary, this is beautiful. The dark teal is my best color. I have a sweater that color and I love the color. Congratulations on being a helper on the Stencil Girl team. You've used the rafters stencil beautifully here.

Mary, I just love your work. I have always been drawn to maps and maps references in paintings and yours are particularly intriguing. As I look at this piece I see so many stories and journeys suggested. Just wonderful.
