New Work Wednesday: Hundred Miles

My new painting this week is entitled Hundred Miles.

This week's painting layers a vintage survey map, text, mica and acrylic paint on small stretched canvas.
This painting incorporates another ambiguous map and combines both hard and soft edges.

And...
Friday afternoon, I learned that 2 of my mixed-media paintings sold at Jacoby Arts Center's Holiday Art Show! As a cash and carry show, patrons are able take home purchased art immediate to give as a gift for the holidays or to keep as a gift to themselves! So grateful to my patrons for giving original art for the holidays! If you're in the area, the show runs through January 5, 2013.

I love Hundred Miles. The texture and colors give it a really organic feel that complements the survey map nicely and gives a dimension to the text "hundred miles". Congrats on your sales!
