This Friday's Feature artist is Eric Fischer!
Oakland based computer programmer Eric Fischer has an ah-mazing photo set on his Flickr stream entitled

Locals and Tourists!
Locals and Tourists uses geotagging data from the photo-sharing websites Flickr and Picasa to visualize the different areas frequented by locals and tourists in Paris, London, and more than a hundred other cities!

Blue points on the map are pictures taken by locals (people who have taken pictures in this city for a month or more).

Red points are pictures taken by tourists (people who took pictures in this city for less than a month).

Yellow points are pictures where it can't be determined whether or not the photographer was a tourist (because they haven't taken pictures anywhere for over a month).

This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! I love maps, always have, but this is like an organic mapmaking adventure.

Love Love Love it.
