This Friday’s Feature artist is Oliver Jeffers!
It’s no surprise that I’m particularly fond of his cartography projects.
Below are some of my favorite places…including my hometown of St. Louis!

Have you ever had just 5 hours in an amazing city? I have!
Jeffers visually depicts that whirlwind of rapid site-seeing in a limited amount of time!
You can learn more out more about Oliver Jeffers on his website!

TGIF!

Mary^

This is incredible. I've been searching for a way to do this myself and have complicated myself right out of starting. His pages though are definitely doable. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Mary,

Thank you for coming over to visit! Nice to meet you! I love these maps, what a fun idea.

I am looking forward to seeing you map projects, the colored gesso is great. I will have tell tell my husband about it.

I am so sorry about the loss of your cute little pup. My dog, Munchen is a weenie dog that has had Cushings disease for the last two years, and is 12. I worry all of the time that she is loosing her hearing and her sight, either because of the disease or old age.

I cannot wait to see what we learn in BYW!

Hava a great week, Elizabeth

Mary, it was so sweet for you to stop by! And you're right, Kelly Rae rocks!! As you saw I decided to dive into BYW2 even tho I didn't take the first one (you'll have to email and let me know if after this one you think it's worth going back to BYW1?) Probably by the looks of your blog - it's awesome and you have your art out there all over the place - so exciting. I have not come across old maps but after seeing your canvases I want some!!!!!!! The topographic sculptures were so interesting and new to me as well. I'm so happy for you - and just when I thought I had every supply imaginable you come along with Matisse colored gesso???? Learn something new every day - I definitely have to check that out. Lastly, my heart is so heavy for you and your loss of Daphne. I love dogs more than anything else and was shattered when I lost Romeo 2 yrs. ago at the age of 5. I still have Juliet, who brings me joy. I hope you'll share photos if you decide on another furbaby but until then I'm praying for comfort and strength to surround you. I'll stop by again, see you in class ;-) hugs.
