New Work Wednesday: Map Location 02/29/2012
My new painting this week is entitled Map Location. This painting layers Hawaiian maps, paper, metallic tape, acrylic media and paint on a small stretched canvas. I'm continuing to experiment with the grid composition. Below is a detail of the work: Want to share some exciting news, too... Both my map paintings in EAC:TWO sold within the first week of the exhibition! I'm thrilled that others connect to the work that I so enjoy making! Below are the two paintings in the show that sold. EAC:TWO will be on display until March 16th at Edwardsville Arts Center. Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Hope you're having a wonderful week! Mary^ CommentsJudy Shea 03/01/2012 9:33am

Oooh, gorgeous! I simply love maps. What lovely work. The colors are just perfect, too, love it! :) Congrats on the successful show! It must feel nice to have people affirm your art with their purchases. My partner just sold his first painting at a gallery for $500! He's been painting for the past 10 years with not a lot of shows, but nice to know people out there can appreciate his art. 03/01/2012 10:22pm
