“My work is influenced by the suburb I live in and the places I visit.”

~Sue Beyer, painter

This Friday’s Feature artist is Sue Beyer!

I love the map paintings she creates!
Picture
Just a hick town, right off the map; Acrylic and posca pen on canvas; 122 x 122cm
From her website:

Sue Beyer's work considers the façade of the ordered suburban environment and the assumption of the permanence of our way of life and our cities. Her work is concerned with the effect that spaces and suburban settings have on an individual's emotions and behaviour and how people use space in a modern urban context.

Wow, this is so cool! I love how she chose to do the gridding in white - it makes it look so elegant. Lovely.

Thanks for sharing, Mary! :)
